When you want your building cleaning get in touch

3 Reasons why you should NEVER pressure wash a rendered building

It is recommended that you consider the following if you are thinking of using pressure or jet washing to clean any rendered facade on your building

  1. High pressure can damage the render by penetrating behind the skin & blowing it away from the wall.

Using steam under low pressure from a specialist system such as Doff or Thermatek machine will gently remove organic material, deposits of atmospheric pollutants & other types of grime.

  2. Pressure washing doesn’t kill organic spores, it only removes the stain & doesn’t treat the cause.

To prevent regrowth the application of an appropriate biocide such as those used in softwashing is required. This needs to be sprayed onto the surface to be cleaned, agitated with a brush & allowed to work before rinsing away.

  3. Assuming you don’t damage the surface of the render, jetwashing can leave the wall patchy or stripy.

It is recommended that render is cleaned by specialists, using softwashing chemicals & high temperature, low pressure system.  Any localised stains such as ferrous deposits from signage can then be addressed.  Finishing with an application of a biocidal treatment to inihibit & delay recolonization of biofilm soiling.
