Spicing up business with Reggae Reggae Sauce Founder Levi Roots!

Adams & Hardcastle went to hear an unconventional speaker at the National Motorcycle museum in Birmingham in the form of Levi Roots.

Levi is the charismatic and hugely entertaining Dragons Den entrepreneur who won investment from business Tycoon Peter Jones to promote his spicy Caribbean sauce which went from being made in batches of 65 bottles at a time in his kitchen to out selling Heinz tomato ketchup on the shelves of Sainsburys’ and Tesco!

Levi sang his iconic Reggae Reggae sauce song that won him so much attention in the Dragons den and shared his life story with the audience.

Keith (don’t call him that though as he hates it!) AKA Levi told us about living with his Grandmother in Jamaica as his parents worked hard in London to be able to afford to bring over one of their children each year to the UK, and how the young Keith on arrival in London wasn’t even able to spell his own name and the road that led to him serving time in prison right through to current day.

Current day finds Levi Roots sharing his central London office with Peter Jones and running his multimillion pound turnover business with only one other member of staff, WOW!

His talk moved deeper into the importance of brand, which is essentially Levi, marketing platforms and mentorship, without which Levi would be still selling his sauce at carnivals rather than talking to groups of entrepreneurs about his success in business.

In Levi’s’ case brand means himself and getting out there and talking to people and sharing his infectious enthusiasm.

For many of our clients’ brand is in a large part the building within which they conduct their business and their clients’ relationship with it. This relationship starts in the car park or on the curb outside the premises where in the clients’ minds’ eye they start to form an overall perception of the business, for example a clean and well-presented shopping centre out performs their competition because on average they experience a 15% greater footfall than one with a dirty façade. What does your building reflect about your brand? Is the appearance of your building’s façade congruent with the brand message that you want your clients to hear?

Take the curb appeal test, go and stand at the entrance of your building or more specifically at the place where your potential client will get their first impression of your business, if you don’t like what you see or you feel that it could use a little help please contact us for some advice on how we can support your business in making the best first impression possible.
